Difference between balayage and ombre hair?

When I search up pictures of ombre and balayage, they look very similar to me. But they're both two different styles according to cosmetolgists. What is the difference?

Ombre is a bit more of a style; Balayage is a technique. Both result in a pretty low maintenance routine. The hair color placement is not strict but done in gradual (for Ombre) one color fading into another (for Balayage) random placement of highlights and low lights.

Balayage is strictly black and blonde while ombré can consist of any two colors
