How to make candle out of soap and acetic acid?

After dissolving soap in water, acetic acid is added and a layer of fatty acid is formed. This experiment was suppose to make a candle out of the fatty acid by just put in a wick and lit it up (which the paper was found in a Chinese website, and was a primary school experiment). I'm not sure why, but my candle made by this method goes off easily, and I can't find much details for this experiment, seems like not much people were performing this experiment...
I found that the nearest candle making method to this was a type of candle call pure stearin candle, which I still couldn't found any tutorial in making it.
So, is it possible to make a candle with this experiment? If not, what can I do with the fatty acid mixture extracted? TQ
