When I told him I liked him his response was simply I’m not trying to date right now. But after telling him he still continues to show signs of interest he brushed his whole body up against me when he walked past me, I catch him looking at me a lot and he even waved at me when he saw me.
Is he just being friendly because he feels bad?
Will guys still be friendly to a girl they don’t like?

He doesn't want to date or be in a relationship. That doesn't mean attraction disappears, though. It sounds like he is attracted to you. He just doesn't want to get into anything serious.

Everyone is different, both genders not just one. The guy you're talking about just doesn't want to get involved in a relationship now. Give him time and see what happens.

Sounds like he'd still be willing to have meaningless sex with you even though he doesn't want to actually date you. I wouldn't take any of this as a compliment.

"I’m not trying to date right now." What part of that is confusing to you? He would likely be interested in a FWB relationship - but I suspect you are all of 15 years old.....so never mind.
