1. Unlikely. SATA cable is usually well-protected. When the cable, in the unlikely event, has issues, you should be able to detect the problem immediately, as the computer should no longer be able to detect the hard drive.

2. There are many reasons why a system (or hard drive) runs slow. It can be either or both hardware and software issues. In your case, it is better to suspect the hard drive is the origin of the problem rather than the cable.

如果線及硬碟老化，是會有影響。因為老化的線會產生電阻，亦可能在傳送資料時產生錯誤。磁碟老化可能令硬碟有損，令讀取出現錯誤。
