Do you think my managers will approve?

It is very unlikely that your request for a 30% raise would get approved.

I highly doubt you will get a $3.00 an hour increase.

They probably won't give you that big of an increase at once.

The deli often pays higher than other departments because of the equipment involved. I don’t know if it pays 30% more at your store or not. It also would make a difference if most of your time was going to be in the deli, or if you are just going to be occasionally scheduled there. Your personal circumstances (getting a place with friends) has absolutely no bearing on anything and should not be brought up at all in your discussion.

Generally speaking, a 30% increase is a huge amount to expect without taking a promotion and significantly increased responsibilities. A dollar an hour increase is more likely, and even that is a lot for your type of job.

You're kidding, right? You might get more hours since you'll be working in an additional department, but why would you expect a raise, especially such a huge one? If deli workers get a higher rate than th two other departments you're working in, you might get a small raise.
