Just take the original quadratic function and replace x with -x everywhere. The net effect is only the coefficient in front of the x-term has a sign change.
Example:
y = 2x² + 6x + 4
becomes
y = 2x² - 6x + 4
In general,
y = ax² + bx + c
becomes
y = ax² - bx + c
Example:
y = 2x² + 6x + 4
becomes
y = 2x² - 6x + 4
In general,
y = ax² + bx + c
becomes
y = ax² - bx + c
