How do you find the barcode on a receipt?

Most receipts do not include an item's barcode in the description.

depending on the store's format, the barcode for the transaction is at the top or the bottom of the receipt. but there isn't a bar code for each individual item on the receipt, but there may be numbers that correlate to the item's sku. when doing a return, the cashier scans the receipt barcode to recall the transaction and then either scans the barcode on the physical item or types in the item's sku by hand to enter it back into the system and to bring up the amount you paid

Depends on the receipt. The numeric code the barcode represents may or may not be shown on it.
