Can I see a doctor without my parents finding out?

I’m 19, from Canada & I’m still on my parents’ health insurance. I would like to make a doctors appointment and get a procedure done without my parents finding out. But I heard that since I’m on their health insurance, even though a doctor can’t tell them about my visit, they’ll see it on the eob. I’m so confused and have looked this up for hours and still don’t really understand, is there anyway I could do this without them finding out anyway?

They will see the names of whoever provided treatment, the dates of treatment(s), and the actual and covered charges, plus amounts they must pay, if any. From there, they can question the providers, and if they are paying any charges, they have the right to know what they are paying for.

Yes. Don't use the health insurance. Pay using only your own money instead.

The policy holder will receive a statement of what procedures were done.

What do you want to have done that you don't want your parents to know about ?

Pay in cash & they for sure won't find out. Use their insurance & for sure they will find out.

If you use their insurance, the visits and provider's name will show on their eob with some basic info, not specific diagnosis

If you pay for the visit yourself and NOT on their insurance, they should not find out

Why don't you phone your doctor's office and ask them?

Yea. Go to the hospital and you can see all kinds of doctors.
