YouTube video editing software for a beginner?

I’m looking for advice on what video editing software I should get. I plan to start a YouTube channel soon and there’s so much editing software to choose from that it’s kinda overwhelming. I’m looking for something that can work on a windows pc, is relatively cheap but still good, and I don’t know if this is all that important but I feel like I should mention that I plan on having a channel that focuses on true crime stories. I don’t plan on showing my face, so my videos would use lots of videos and images from whatever case I’m talking about and just my voice. (I’m bad at explaining things, but you all know those types of channels/videos) thanks in advance!
