On your own it is impossible. With God all things are possible.
Without sin there would be no Clergy....
With some Christians anything pleasurable is considered a sin.
Pleasure reminds them to feel guilty, unworthy and ashamed.
The addiction to religion is worth ceasing....
That's one addiction that is treatable.
Generally, when we overcome one sin it is replaced with another.
Temptation throughout life is a struggle, evil is all around us.
Remember, the fallen angels were casted to earth well before mankind arrived.
The demonic realm had ample time to prepare for our arrival.
I read the stupid questions on YA R+S and respond. Sometimes with a degree of snark.
"Why do* typical Christians..."
Also, at ANY given moment you can sin, whether you like it or not. If saints even confessed their sin 7 times a day, then imagine the number of sins we are doing without realizing.
Sin is doing what God doesn't want us to do. It doesn't have to do with the 10 commandments, nor does it have to do with the Bible. ANYTHING, and I mean LITERALLY ANYTHING can be a sin. Helping people CAN be a sin (if pride follows afterwards), prayer can be a sin (if it's done only to finish it up, without actually caring about the words, or at least try to), pretty much anything we do has the potential of sin, no matter where we are. It's just that we're built that way. It's our freedom that's letting us be like this.
Let's tackle it in another way. When we pray, go to church, do good deeds, all in the name of God, how long does it take us? 1 hours, 2 hours, 5, maybe 10 hours a week? Heck, let's say 12 hours a week. That's half a day in a week. A year is 52 weeks, meaning we are giving God 26 days of our time, AND THAT'S IF we literally are able to give it to Him without even so much a hint of sin. What about the rest? God gives us 365 days of His time, and we're barely even giving Him any of our time that He gave us! We'll definitely get in a quarrel with someone over something, greed can take over at any time, even if for a minute, anger, jealousy, ALL the things that can lead to sin. The sin is not in the action alone, but it begins at the heart of us all!
Any naughty thought is a sin. No one can go an entire day without having a nasty or naughty thought.
They don't.
The typical Christian is completely and utterly incapable of admitting that they can do or have ever done anything wrong.
Just conduct this experiment. Point out something wrong that a Christian did, and watch the responses:
1) That person wasn't really a Christian
2) That thing wasn't really wrong
3) Oh, look over there as I change the subject
Never will they say "yeah, that was a wrong thing that that Christian did".
Again, where the hell are you getting this from?
NO I NEVER SAID THAT....LYING IS WRONG...DYK THE TEN COMMANDS? OR ARE U A CLONE?
maybe you should **** god.
A Christian can turn away from any particular kind of sin. But there are always temptations all around us, and no human being can remain totally free of sin. Human beings are not perfect.
I guess I have never met the typical Christian.
Jesus exists and is God. A person can know these things with certainty by way of having true devotion to the Immaculate Heart of the Virgin Mary.
