How much does it cost to move a mobile home 10 miles?

I asked that question 2 yrs ago to a mover, he said $4,000
Obviously they may be quite lower in NC VS CA, so the 4K is just an estimate in my city. If you call them, they'll tell you

Your best bet is to contact a trucking company that specializes in moving mobile homes and ask them for a quote. There's more to it than you would think... You can't just hook on to something that big and start towing. Especially if you're planning to move the trailer on narrow public or residential roadways.

Just a guess, but I'd say the bidding starts at around $1000 and goes up from there.

You need to call a trucking company that specializes in transporting mobile homes. A lot depends upon where you're moving it from, and where you're moving it to. Expect it to cost a bunch! You can't just hook up your pickup truck to a mobile home and move it down the road.
The transport company has to pay for road permits in order to move it down public roads and streets, and that is part of the cost.
The transport company has to be familiar with the roads and streets the mobile home will be moving over and plan out the route in advance (is an overpass high enough for the load to pass under; are there electric lines that cross the road, and how high are they, etc.)..
Some times, the law requires that a large mobile home have a flag car traveling in front and in back of it; or that the mobile home can not be transported down the highway during the night time hours. The transport company has to equip the home with temporary, working lights on the rear.
I don't know what they're called "mobile" homes. There's nothing "mobile" about one.. .
