Why are Pixar's movie sequels so many years apart from each other ?

The Toy Story movies have 4 movies but the first two are 4 years apart from each other (1995 and 1999) with an 11 year gap between the second and the third film and the more recent one Toy Story 4 has a 9 year gap between it and the previous film (2010 and 2019). Cars has 5 years between the original and the sequel (2006 and 2011) and the third one didn't come out until 6 years later (2017) and there's also 14 years between two of the Incredibles films (2004 and 2018) and 13 years between the Finding Nemo and Finding Dory movies (2003 and 2016) but why did Pixar take so long to do the other movies ?

I have to believe Disney and Pixar both want to make the very most they can from every film they make. At least two years passes when a movie is released, then two more years on DVD and now streaming service. Then they have to take a few years writing the sequel, production planning, and finalizing the making of the movie.

Once they have exhausted every way to make money from a movie, Disney wants more money, and the only way is to make a sequel. Disney and Pixar have multiple movies going at the same time or within a year from the other. So, the process has to begin each time with each movie.

Remember too, Disney purchased LucasFilm just seven years ago, and they have already started the Star Wars rehash. Just look at how much George Lucas squeezed out of Star Wars. I'm talking about movies, cartoons, documentaries, specials, books, magazines, etc... Raiders of the Lost Ark will probably be rebooted with a new Indiana Jones now too.

Animations of that standard take years to make.
