Is it unhealthy to not eat before the gym?
When I go to the gym I usually don’t eat before hand. It’s not because of apparently burning more fat at the gym. Rather, I feel that every time I eat something before the gym I just feel bloated and bogged down, even if it’s something small and 45 minutes prior, like a banana. But then when I go and I don’t eat, I have some of the best workouts where I get a lot done. When I get back I usually have a protein shake with spinach, pineapple, banana, yogurt, and whey. If I’m starving before hand I’ll have something small, it’s not like I refuse to eat, but I just generally feel like I have better workouts and don’t cramp/feel bloated if I go without eating and then have a higher calorie and protein meal or shake after. Is it okay to not eat before the gym or is that unhealthy?

Nothing wrong with it, I generally try and leave 1.5-2 hours after eating before the gym for that same reason.
If I am going first thing in the morning I might add a little fruit juice (roughly 25%ish) to my water for a little sugar as I flag on those sessions without a little carbs.
Protein doesn;t really need to be taken directly after exercise either, as long as its enopugh throughout the day it doesn't matter when it is.
In fact it's unhealthy to eat before heavy workouts, like at a gym. The reason it's unhealthy is that food needs to be digested and the blood flow will naturally concentrate on the GI tract to help that digestion.
But when you workout, now that blood flow is rerouted away from the GI tract to support those muscles and such used during the heavy workout. And there goes the digestion and here comes the bloating or even indigestion.
As a flight student with the Navy, we were all too often schedule for a major PE test right after lunch hour. I learned very quickly that having lunch and then going to the gym for heavy workouts was not a smart thing to do. So I'd skip lunch when my schedule for PE was right after the lunch hour.
never eat prior to working out or swimming........
If you're not hungry, don't eat.
And exercise boosts our metabolism and tones us.... it doesn't do a lot of fat burning. Fat loss is mostly about what we are eating.
Your protein shake is loaded with sugars (banana, pineapple and if the yogurt is sweetened, there is more sugar). Sugar causes a blood glucose spike so if you're trying to lose weight, you're defeating the purpose.
i wouldnt worry about it if youre not having problerns doing that
