Can I cancel an online order I made and didn’t receive due to website and user errors?

Simply put I ordered pizza online. Before paying, my order got erased so I had to start over. I quickly reordered my whole order and actually got to click pay and it went through. But in doing so it reset my store to a store about 25 minutes away. This I did not see or expect until I went to the store to wait and pick it up. As soon as I heard and checked my order confirmation I called the other place to cancel but they already made it.
I paid but couldn’t drive across town on my lunch break. So I lost my money and received nothing all because the site crashed and I had to input all the details in again and missed the store name.

Can I tell my credit card company to cancel it or should I call the pizza place HQ and complain? I’m annoyed they have my money and I have no pizza now. All because I used their system.

Call the pizza place. They typically respond to complaints like this by sending you a new pizza.

Definitely contact the pizza place either by email or phone call and let them know. They should refund you. You can also tell the card company about the charges if the pizza company doesn't do anything.

You have to make a good faith attempt to resolve it with the pizza place. Only if it fails can you attempt a credit card chargeback.
