someone on Facebook came up in my suggested friends with furry porn all over their profile so I reported them.

Why? How was that causing you any harm? If you don't like it, don't look at it, simple as that. Live and let live.

The answer is yes. You did the right thing by reporting the profile in question. Pornographic material is strictly prohibited under the Terms of Service and will result in disabled accounts.
