Afraid to play xbox due to homophobia and toxic people?

I know everyone has encountered toxic people on xbox so you can understand the issue I'm faced with ...

I am a homosexual male so I am always targeted and ridiculed by straight guys for no reason . they can usually tell because of my voice , I guess because my voice is a little softer , so they assume im gay.

All it takes is one guy to point it out , or to make some kind of a homophobic remark and then the rest of the party joins in on the ridicule .

I don't know what to do, every time I play xbox I encounter these guys and they ruin the entire game for me. I like talking to people and making friends in the xbox community but it's hard for me to even turn on my mic anymore because of the toxic people.

I haven't touched my xbox in weeks because I can't seem to find the interest to play the game anymore .

Well, online games have always been filled with toxicity, but 80% it's just trolling. I almost never turn on my headset because I don't want/ care to talk to random people online. I'm a girl and I always get trolls when I play an online game, but that's what I expect and I just go along with it and troll back. If it's honestly bothering you that much then maybe you should just not play with your mic on? or just play in a private lobby with your friends.

Dude, just turn off voice chat. Or just don't use the microphone. Tell everybody that you broke it during a rage quit and don't have the money to buy another one.

Immature brats playing Multiplayer games will never be reasoned with. They are a stupid bunch that can't interact on a personal/social level already.

First and foremost, you should report every single person who yells slurs at you. The only way it can be curbed is if people take the action to point them out.

If you must play multiplayer games, why not only use private lobbies with your friends? Or just turn off voice chat? Or play games that aren't online, or just not the online mode.

There will always be people like that, and it's unfortunate. But as of right now, there's very little I can think of that can fix your problem.

If I had an XBox, just know that if we are in a lobby together; you wouldn't have to worry about that from me.

Do you need to play with the mic on? Because you can play any game without using voice chat at all.

I don't use mic when playing online, unless when I'm playing with my friends. Even when playing multiplayer games like Fortnite/Apex/DotA, I never use mic when playing with randoms, since most of them were just trolls or toxic (I just use chat wheels or pinging for communicating, and that's more than enough).

1st. Let me say. I LITERALLY play online 8-14 hours a day. SAD but absolutely true. I'm a disabled Veteran and have alot of time on my hands. 2nd. A am almost a PRO Gamer at every game i play. Especially NHL games. I say this because my opinion comes from light years of experience in multiplayer. --With that said let me tell you. I had to turn my setting to private. No communication because i would hold these idiots accountable for playing like 3 year olds. And acting like one. Almost every game there are 20 something year olds acting stupid and playing stupid. When i call them out . They all in the lobby jump on me and berate me.

If someone has a problem with YOUR sexuality that says more about them then it does about you. PRIDE is all about owning your ****. And I know alot of men who cut on gay men but they themselves are in the closet. Be PROUD!

They don't need to know that you're gay and you don't need to tell them. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can about the pitch of your voice, so if you do come across assholes like that, mute them or join a new match.
