Why do I get very happy when a girl calls me good looking ? Why do I care so much about my looks (guy ) . Is it narcissistic to do so ? Help?

I am 21 year old male in office. I often receive compliments from girls for my looks. They say that I look really good. In a truth or dare game once played a girl said she actually thought I am an attractive guy. I know they aren't lying because they don't look down or get fidgety. Many of them also ask me how I have never had a girlfriend and it's not possible. Some of them also act a little flirty with me . I am also very flirty with girls I am comfortable with and call them pretty many times. I also irritate a few of them a lot but if it was another guy they would have slapped him but they somehow tolerate me. This all happened once I grew a beard. I was good looking even when I was clean shaven but when I grew a beard I started getting more looks. I also maintain it a lot but applying beard shampoo , beard softener and beard oil everyday and see that my hair is perfect before going out. I also have less emotions for other people in general. Some girls call me a$$hole but I think it's for fun . This is all suprising because deep down I am an insecure person but no one knows this. BUT IT DOESNT SEEM LIKE GIRLS ACTUALLY CARE WHETHER THR GUY IS ATTRACTIVE OR NOT BECAUSE I DONT RECEIVE THR ATTENTION WHICH I THOUGHT I WOULD GET. MAYBE BECAUSE IN TV SHOWS GOOD LOOKING GUYS GET A LOT OF ATTENTION . HOW TO NOT PUT EVERYTHING ON LOOKS.
