Wasn't Jefferson the prolific slaveowner? I wonder how much he could philosophize if he had to farm his own fields and repair his own things? Talk about taking something you didn't work for and giving it to others, right?

This is just a variant of the idea that rights have responsibilities which come with them. When will the second-amendment gun folks realize that their rights carry some heavy responsibilities as well? Same basic question: why do some people think that it is only the others who don't see that duties come with freedoms?
That shouldn't be the role of the educator, to teach basic decent human character. It is supposed to be the role of parents to teach their children that rights and responsibilities are two halves of a whole.
