My husband has been having severe pain on his left side mid back area for over 2 weeks now. He also says it hurts to breathe sometimes
(He is being worse then a woman delivering a baby)
Wondering if anyone knows what can be causing this?
What could be causing my husbands severe back pain?

Get him to a chiropractor. Back pain has many origins and to guess it online is impossible. He needs proper care and a chiropractor is best suited to help him.

Kidney stones? Slipped disc? spinal muscle abscess? The point is, he needs to be seen and tested to get an exact diagnosis and that starts with seeing his doc.

That long he should go to the hospital. Could be a severely pulled muscle or in a spasm.
Use moist heat. Damp wash cloth in a heat pad cover 20-30 minutes every few hours.
Do not.mix moist heat and
Ben Gay, it will blister skin.
Wait 20 min after heat pad to put deep heat rub on.
Try Aleve for pain and follow instructions. It's good, but hard on kidneys.
