I grew up as an absolute dedicated Marvel partisan, so I know alot less about DC's characters. But Marvel devolved into a pit of really awful storytelling and event gimmicks, so I became more of a follower of writers and indie books.

Around that time DC had a MUCH better reputation for hiring good writers and giving them creative freedom. I dabbled a bit in DC, but unless a specific writer lead me there, I wasn't impressed. Eventually the cost and poor $ per entertainment time ratio lead me to quit comics.

CW's Arrowverse lead me to give DC more of a try. I went back and tried some TPBs, and found some that were alright, but I never loved them like I did my Marvel stuff back in the day. But I also dabbled in some more recent Marvel stuff, and it was just SUCH absolute sh--.

So I would say that at it's peak, Marvel was way better. But more recently, DC has been.

I have found neither company to be "better" then the other. Both have some excellent series. And both have some really bad ones. The creators (writers and artist) usually have more to do with the quality of the books then which company prints it.

The one that keeps you entertained. If such sucked. Why in the 9 Hells would you waste your time with something you hate.

I'm fond of both, but DC's cooler since it has the heroic trinity of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

Depends on the specific character, specific movie, director...etc...

I like most of the Spiderman movies that have been created, but I wouldn't call myself a fan -- same goes with the Green Arrow and the Flash. I can recognize and appreciate good stories and characters that have been portrayed well without being "a fan."

The Chris Nolan films and Tim Burton Batman films are better than The Avengers -- at least to me.... but Batman is my favorite character.. It's just about preference. The only comic books that I was interested in reading was Batman.. I just didn't care that much about other characters. Some people like Star Trek over Star Wars (and vice versa) . . . it's personal taste, and just as people like different people -- same goes with characters. Marvel has a better track record at making quality films that respect the established material -- but still, it's a bit unfair of a statement considering different directors ultimately represent themselves -- and Burton and Nolan did great despite Schumacher and Snyder.... and the recent stint of bad animated films by Bruce Timm: the Killing Joke and Batman and Harley Quinn (2017).. The old Batman Animated Series, Batman Beyond...etc... were classic, and none of the animated shows produced by Marvel I was able to really get into.

Marvel has made some poor movies too, but they generally grow from their failures -- take the Hulk for example. Brie Larson has created quite a negative stir on the Marvel side.

Marvel because DC usually fixates on black and white stories of absolute good vs absolute evil.
