Ending your rights as a council tenant in London?
Does anyone have any info on ending your council tenancy agreement? For eg if Im a council tenant for years and want to no longer be a council tenant and want to start renting privately does the council pay out a grant when ending the agreement? I live in London, Haringey borough

No, why would they pay out a grant? What they normally want is four weeks notice and if you don't give that then they still expect paying in lieu of notice, at least that's what my council did before they sold all their stock. Aren't you better staying there? A council rent has a lot more security than a private rent.
You give the council written notice that you are leaving...end of...you do not get any paid money
You put in written notice per your lease, usually 30 or 60 days, thst you are ending your tenancy.
If you want to go private - you give notice as per your lease with your council, and leave. You don't get anything.
