Notice the responses to my own answer: Flat out accusations that I'm lying.
Fellow Christians, why should we bother to discuss matters any further with those who simply accuse us of lying for telling them of what we know ... what we have seen and heard. When you try to share the truth with others, and they tell you that you're lying, and they refuse to consider that any idea which they find hard to believe could possibly be anything other than a lie ... is there any point in trying to discuss things further?
Do these people assume that EVERYONE who expresses a different point of view is LYING? Is this what our society has become? Anyone who disagrees with us must be LYING now?
If this is where we are, there is truly no hope for our society.
Yes Bearclaw: If a Cthulhu even evangelist tells me Cthulhu is the only way, I have every right to dismiss him and his stories. But I do NOT have the right to call him a LIAR unless I can prove that HE (or she) is LYING unless I can PROVE the evangelist does not believe what he or she is saying.
Eddie J: If you HONESTLY BELIEVE that's the amount of that substance on Mars then NO! You ARE NOT LYING. You may be MISTAKEN. But you are not lying. Now, you aren't SURE about the amount of that material on Mars, that's another matter. I have met Christ ... encountered God at a deeper level than I have ever encountered a human being. I am more SURE about Him than I am of the sun in the sky or the existence of the person in the next room. Yes ... I DO know or I would not SAY that I know.
Nous: By that logic, no historian's work is of any value. Seriously? That's not even a rational argument.
Jea: I'm sorry if I have ever personally attacked you. I certainly will not call you a liar for saying you love your family. I assume you do. But you PERSONALLY, and others, have accused me and other Christians of LYING, not just being wrong. You did it in the first comment to my answer on the question I linked to in my original details. When accused of lying ... yes, we will defend ourselves. Now, if we could all just stop accusing each other of LIES, we might get somewhere.
