Yes but it has considerable self governing powers for a decade plus still. Also there is a growing independence movement in HK.

Yes, Hong Kong is still part of China. But there is a growing separatist movement in Hong Kong. The separatists are no friends of mine, we might need the help of the Grand Army of the Republic to counter the increasing threats of the separatists.

More so now than before 1997. You see Hong Kong was a territory of the United Kingdom (Britain) until 1997. But that year, Hong Kong went back to the ownership of the PRC (China). However, although it is now a true part of China, it does have a semi-autonomous government that allows the Hong Kong businesses to still operate as capitalist enterprises.

Hong Kong is one of my favorite cities of the world. And Jimmy's Kitchen in Hong Kong is one of my favorite restaurants of the world.
