It was working a minute ago, so I don't know what to do. I'm sick of it doing it randomly every other day. I did not waste money to buy a new mouse just to have a stupid laptop say it malfunctioned even though it is obviously fine. Any way to stop this stupid thing from happening again?

Why do you say the mouse is fine? It's pretty common for electronics to be dead when they arrive, sadly.

Does it work normally on other machines?

Does it work fine plugged into other ports?

Is it a wireless mouse? Are it's batteries good? Is there some strong wireless interference?

If it didn't "Migrate" is this after a Windows upgrade? If so, then it's probably just a driver issue. I'd try looking for a driver on the mouse's website and install that.
