No. And social security tells people that. No one should carry anything which includes their social security # on it to protect themselves against identity theft. SSCs should be kept at home in a safe place with other important documents (e.g. your birth certificate) and used only when needed.

Do not laminate it. Not acceptable to social security.

No, you should keep it somewhere safe and secure. If you need to use it for anything then it's best to just bring it there then put it back at home when you're done.

It's generally recommended that you do not carry your SS Card unless required to show it (IE: Interviews or applying for social services).

If your purse is ever stolen, you'll be open to identity theft.

Wellllllllllll, you could. But it's really rare to need the actual card, as long as you know the number. And it's probably a huge pain in the *** to replace. So just leave it at home.
