What is the activation energy (in kJ) of a reaction whose rate constant increases by a factor of 100 upon increasing the temperature from 300K to 360K?

T₁ = 300 K and T₂ = 360 K
k₁/k₂ = 1/100
R = 8.314 J/(mol K)

Arrhenius equation:
ln(k₁/k₂) = (Eₐ/R) [(1/T₂) - (1/T₁)]
ln(1/100) = (Eₐ/8.314) [(1/360) - (1/300)]
Eₐ = 8.314 ln(1/100) / [(1/360) - (1/300)] J/mol = 68900 J/mol = 68.9 kJ/mol
