They voted to preserve the constitution that they swore to uphold. None of them swear loyalty to a president. No shame for that but I am surprised that the coelenterates in the Senate showed the beginnings of at least a notochord.

If they didn't like the fact that Trump used the power that Congress gave him, they should have passed legislation that restricts that power. Not to protest that Trump used it.

Those 12 republican senators are smart enough to have the foresight to see how this is one pandora's box that shouldn't be opened. If Trump gets away with this, you can bet that the next democrat president declares a national emergency over something like gun control, climate change or universal healthcare.

Shaee clearly hasn’t read the constitution. The legislature is designed to be a check against presidential abuse of power, they’re just two years late in beginning to do their job.

You have no idea what their motives were, and most of them object to any president taking away the powers that the Constitution gives to Congress.
