都是常用的英語
不過前者 常常用在 尋問 精確的 時間
所以 前者的回答 會是 at 5:00p.m. yesterday
而 後者的回答 會是 yesterday afternoon

"when" is interrogative adverb=at what time; on what occasion:-
eg:-When did that happen ?
I don't know when that happened.
eg:-When did it happen?
I don't know when it happened.
