For similar triangles to exist, the corresponding angles must be congruent and the sides proportional. The way in which the triangles are named is very important because the corresponding angles can be determined from that. Since triangle ABC is similar to triangle LMN, angles A and L correspond to each other and are congruent -- angle L = angle A = 48°.

Since the triangles are similar, all of the angles will be the same. The only thing you have to
do is figure out which of the three angles in ABC corresponds to angle L.

The side ratios tell you this. The LM/AB ratio suggests that L corresponds to A and
M to B, and so N would go with C. The other ratios confirm this.

And so angle L is the same as angle A, 48 degrees
