Speed of light, c = 3.00 × 10⁸ m/s
Wavelength, λ = 490.9 nm = 490.9 × 10⁻⁹ m

Frequency, f = c/λ = (3.00 × 10⁸ m/s) / (490.9 × 10⁻⁹ m) = 6.11 × 10¹⁴ Hz

You would convert nm's to cm's to make it less punching in and from there you could either divided the speed of light or speed of sound by that.

So A= ammount of cm's

Speed of light in cms/A=high octave in hz, then you can divide by 2 over and over to get an audible octave.

Or you can go with the speed of sound which depends on temperature.

Say the temp is 68 degrees. Speed of sound travels 34,392.81 cm's per second. So 34,392.81/A=hz octaves.

f = c / lambda

where f = frequency
c = speed of light
lambda = wavelength

answer will be in (sec)^-1, which is Hertz
