There are a lot of people who did not believe in God but, later in life, they came to believe in God. Whatever their heart condition was, it changed, which is what God does for people whom He saves. He gives them a spiritual heart transplant. He judges and He either acts to open their spiritual eyes and touch their hearts, or He leaves them in their state of disbelief.

Because of this, your assumption is backwards, where it is true that our feelings cause irrationality to see what is not there. Believers "feel" that the see evidence for Gods, but a reasonable person understands feelings don't count as trustworthy, only facts and reasoning count when attempting to understand the truth about something. Theists certain attempt to give "good" reasons as to why they believe at they do. Skeptics simply give "better" reasons as to why theist reasoning fails to shine a light of truth. Even if Gods/Goddesses happen to exist, theists simply cannot make a reasonable case for any of them, where as it stands, humans attempt to put words into the mouths of these Gods/Goddesses with good reasons to know they are words of man not Gods. Due to lack of "good" reasoning skills on the side of theists, they cannot even agree among themselves which God/Goddess or how many might be involved. Today, here on this forum, people who believe one thing or another without fully examining the source of that belief. Failure to examining sources fully is what gets so many people in trouble. And just because a source appears to be reliable does not mean it is.

About belief in God. There is so much evidence all around to prove to honest hearted ones his existence and purpose. Those who choose to disbelieve their own eyes and try to force their view on others are to be pitied. Jesus called them blind guides. See Mathew 15:12-14 to see what he was referring to.

Bottom Line
Those who have chosen to not believe in God are either blind guides or are themselves willingly being conned by blind guides.

They just simply can't whether you warn or do not warn of God's punishment and of the afterlife. God also has closed their hearts and minds for a reason. They lack faith, God's guidance, they're preoccupied with their own delusions and chasing after their temporary desires and do not see the reality of this world.

Although, when facing death..the veil will be uncovered for them and they will proclaim their new profound faith when its too late especially on the Day of Resurrection/Judgement.

When they facing death and go back to God, they beg God to return them. To allow them to do good in the world, good deeds and that they will follow His Book, His Rules.

No matter what they say or do, they won't be accepted and won't be returned back. Their words are mere words, mere wishes and mean nothing.

They can't go back to their families to warn them either. So, its their problem to deal with. Between them and God.

The bible tells us that the vast majority of people will reject God.....the reason is that God rejected them before the foundation of the earth. All those that are saved in this lifetime is because God predestined them to be saved. It was nothing that we did prior to our birth....It was just God's mercy on a few and God's non-mercy on the rest of mankind.

I personally believe that people believe In God due to the fact that humans In nature are emotional and spiritual beings. While many aspects of the bible seem exaggerated, to some people may seem believable. Humans generally have always had leaders to follow, rules to keep them kind, and believe to have some kind of purpose In life and religion helps to fulfill a majority of them. Whilst I'm not religious I do think If a religion keeps someone healthy, loved and kind, I do not see an Issue.

You are entitled to your opinion, but that isn't why I became an atheist. I was searching for answers and read the Bible seeking solace, guidance, comfort, ... anything that would have helped. But it led me nowhere except to more and more questions. Eventually, the questions outweighed anything I found and at that point, I lost my faith. I lost it by reading the Bible and failing to find any sense in it.

Not everyone thinks dreams are signs from god. Some people just call them... DREAMS. Literal figments of a persons imagination stacked up to create weird confusing movies in our brains. :D We take it for granted really. It's almost like while humans were evolving... dreaming was just a pleasant bonus on the side because we think to much. Researches can explain a lot about a lot of things when people are sleeping... just not.. dreams... Perhaps its similar to conscious thinking and picturing things in your head. It's a fact that if you fall asleep stressing about something you're very likely to start dreaming because even though you've fallen asleep your brain is still working almost full on. I guess they're just unconscious thoughts relating to conscious thoughts we were having just before falling asleep. Our calm sleeping state allowing us to view our pictured memories much more thoroughly. Almost always without control though. I've only lucid dreamed once. :(

Yes, absolutely. They have read the same things that we have and therefore examined the same evidence and yet they seem to subsequently crave even more! If we readily accepted that proof because our hearts told us it was right then they are obviously not listening in their hearts but in their heads. One wonders how they put themselves off. I suspect it is a combination of things but most importantly that they are so firmly entrenched in their sinful life styles that they simply do not want to change. To these people, the awareness that they are in serious trouble if He does, is probably also accompanied by the desire to somehow convince themselves, by way of 'proof' or false reasoning, that He doesn't. In other words, they are deliberately in denial about it in the same way that a parent will lie, to the authorities and even unto themselves, that their child is not a criminal when all around them know that they are.

The day these people stopped asking, seeking and knocking was when they made a conscious decision that the goodies of this world, the sins of the flesh, material possessions and money, are somehow far superior to that which you cannot see and might not actually be there. And now they play knock down ginger on that door with the attitude that the owner of the house was not quick enough to catch them out so He will not be big enough or strong enough to harm them in any way whatsoever. Everything that many of them on here do supports that. They gloat with the "Where is your God!?" one liner.

One side is in for an almighty shock. But it is not those who haven't denied Him and who try, diligently and sincerely, to avoid offending Him.
