How come all of the sudden he is posting stories on snap chat?

i used to talk to this guy. he stopped posting stories for about a month. we are still friends on snap chat. i saw something with his name on it at the store and i took a picture and sent it to him on snap chat. he opened it but no response. then the next day he starts posting stories when he hasn't posted anything in a month, that can't be a coincidence? i get that he is on vacation but still... what could that mean?
