95.8 L of fluorine gas is being held at a temperature of 24.5°C. If the temperature were raised to 46.9°C, what would the new volume be?
Also what law is used? Show work
回答 (1)
Original: V₁ = 95.8 L, T₁ = (273.2 + 24.5) K = 297.7 K
New: V₂ = ? L, T₂ = (273.2 + 46.9) K = 320.1 K
According to Charles' law: V₁/T₁ = V₂/T₂
Hence, V₂ = V₁ × (T₂/T₁)
New volume, V₂ = (95.8 L) × (320.1/297.7) = 103 L
