Please help regarding hit and run?
Someone hit my truck 5 days ago and fled. I provided the license plate to police and they were going to obtain footage from Macy s. I called for an update and they have what they need.
Why is it taking so long for the person to be arrested?

Why do you care? His arrest has nothing to do with you. File n insurance claim to get your truck fixed, and let insurance deal with suing him.
"Why is it taking so long for the person to be arrested?" Because this is not CSI on TV and a hit and run is not a murder. Sure, a warrant was probably issued as soon as they identified the person responsible. However the manhunt has not started and never will.
If that person is arrested tomorrow or never, it is not really your problem anyway. You report the damage to your insurance company. You provide them with the information you have. They will obtain a copy of the police report. If they believe they can collect, they will go after the person responsible.
minor accidents have lower priority than robbery, murder, theft, etc
Contact your auto insurance company and they will handle the rest.
Don't hold your breath. Better question is, why have you not reported this to your insurance company? They need to be in the loop on this.
The cops might issue a warrant, but the odds are they aren't going to go looking for him unless it's a small town. Cities have bigger things to deal with and they usually get pulled over eventually.
Such people in America normally have a in with the cops. They will talk to him. He will give them something. You are only a tax payer. Not important to them. Way it works. Use your insurance if you have.
Probably because he's hiding his assss.😁
You're asking the wrong people. We don't work for your local police department. Why not call the detective assigned to the case and ask for a progress report?
