You're 28 focking years old.. Grow up. IT's not like you're dependent on them, you're living life as an independent adult.

You CAN'T help them. THEIR issues are theirs to deal with. CHILDREN, even adult children have nothing to do with their parents' dysfunctional marriage and should butt out.

If they divorce they do.. you have zero control over it. But for what it's worth, a lot of couples "communicate" this way over the years. It's just their way. You can't actually know anything about their private conversations or their personal marital communications when they are alone.

You can't fix them. the only person you can truly help in this life is YOU. Move forward, and work at tending to your own life and business. Your parents' marriage and the relationship they have with each other is personal and private. While you hear arguments, again, you don't know what they are discussing when the lights go out at night.

There is also a gob of information online for Anxiety Self Help. It will work if you work it. There's no sense in worrying about other people's "problems". None at all.

And stop being enmeshed with your parents .. it doesn't help.

They might be but it's their issue to sort out. You can help them by being there for them and listening to them. Don't let them involve you or your sister - don't be put in the middle because it's not about you and your sister.

Seeing a therapist for their help with this is a good idea. A therapist can help you to feel less anxious about your parents' struggles.

You need to refuse to take sides - you love them equally and unconditionally, but their behaviour is beginning to cost them your respect. If everyone read books like Dr Phil McGraw's excellent, Relationship Rescue they would get deeper insights into how relationships work and learn to be much happier! (I wish I got commission, as I recommend it to so many people!). As he writes in the book, it isn't only or people whose relationships are in trouble. There are other books, of course.
