Harper College is a regionally accredited community college (the best accreditation). That means it has a good academic base, and has transfer programs to four-year colleges so that you can later earn a Bachelor's degree, if that's what you want.

If your intention is to earn a Bachelor's Degree, starting at a community college makes good financial sense. Working with a college advisor, you can take your general education classes at the community college at a much lower cost than at a four-year college, and you can start on the basic classes that will transfer and lead to your major at a four-year college.

If you just want a Associate's degree, then Harper has a good computer science program.
