Numbers 15:32. “And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the Sabbath day…And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the Lord commanded Moses.”
so when do I send the boys round to stone you with stones for using the internet on a Sunday
Sunday isn’t the biblical sabbath, and using the internet isn’t just a form of working.
I guess in your egocentric deluded world there's no such thing as circumstance and understanding only literal application... you must be a nightmare to live with!
Sunday? The Bible doesn't mention Sunday.
We're not Jewish, and the Sabbath Day is on Saturday.
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.
All of that is over, Hebrews 8:13.
Non Sequitur. Sunday is not the Sabbath. The Sabbath of the Bible was based on an entirely different calendar scheme that did not have fixed weeks like our present calendar does.
God defined the Sabbath as the seventh day of the week. That's Saturday. I keep the Sabbath holy, and attend church on Sunday. If you are going to preach, you should know what you're preaching about: 1) Sabbath is Saturday, 2) Sabbath was meant to be perpetual covenant for the Jews. (Are you Jewish?)
參考: Exodus 31:15 & 16 - "Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant."
Be careful when choosing your stone.
1 Peter 2
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
John 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
And Jesus said unto them -
"John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments."
It is the Internet not the internet. You get to believe in your religion and I in mine.
It's Saturday (not Sunday)
and
it's a commandment given specifically to the Israelites ("the sons of Israel")...i.e. to Jewish people rather than to Christians.
Yes... that was part of JEWISH scripture. But when confronted by Jewish leaders when His apostles were picking food on the Sabbath Jesus said "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." This was one of quite a few of the Jewish laws which Christ dismissed. Christ gave us a NEW Covenant.
