Jesus said, 'Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's,' meaning pay your taxes. So I suppose evading taxes might be a sin. It's definitely a crime. You'll be punished in this life, not the next one.

Yeah.

Jesus said 'Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and render unto God the things that are God's'.

When he said that he LITERALLY MEANT TAXES!

It is a variety of theft.

Its theft. Whether you want to consider it theft of services or whatever (meaning you aren't paying for the roads, services, etc) doesn't really matter. That's what it is and I'm pretty sure stealing is a commandment...

Yes, as it's stealing and lying. It's also a crime.

A sin is committed against the laws of God.

A crime is committed against the laws of man.

Tax evasion is a crime - not a sin.

There is no sin except stupidity

Maybe

No

The laws of man may relate, in many instances, to the laws of God but they are not the laws of God and therefore if you break a law of man that does not relate to the laws of God then you have done no sin. We should, however, also keep the laws of man because they are there, in place, in order to keep Order and safety.
