The Spam and Trash folders are deleted automatically: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/sln3518.html
If they are being deleted from youir inbox it is a glitch.

Are you sure you aren't just looking at it on a device that only synchs 2 weeks? Try logging in through your browser and see if it looks the same.
