32 like chocolate only.
132 like vanilla or chocolate.
15 do not like vanilla nor chocolate.
how many students did Karen survey?

32 like chocolate only.
132 like vanilla or chocolate.

"132 like vanilla or chocolate" includes the 40 people who like vanilla only and the
32 who like chocolate only.

All you need to do is add the 132 who like vanilla or chocolate to the 15 who do not like vanilla nor chocolate.

132 + 15 = 147.

this is a Venn diagram problem..draw two circles which intersect...put 132 in the intersection , 40 in the remainder of one circle , 32 in the other, place 15 outside of both circles....{ 217 students }.....Hmmm...."132 like vanilla OR chocolate " means what ? they like both...don't care..then 60 goes into the intersection { 147 students }
