Why does life seem to go slower when you change your routine, for example a month of solid work everyday will go fast and going on vacation?

then touring then working and then going shopping all in a month will seem slower. Any research to this. Any knowledge on this topic?

You're a bit backwards from most.

For most, vacation always goes by too fast.
