Will red dead redemption 2 get a pc release in the future?

It's likely that Rockstar will release Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC... HOWEVER, there's going to be a fair wait here... as there's around an 18-month delay (using GTA V as guideline) to optimize the game for the majority of PC's since Rockstar takes it time to release a polished, high-quality product.

Just be patient, as we'll likely see the release in April / May, 2020.

There was datamining done in the companion app that has assets alluding to a PC version.

Given the success of GTA V's PC version with over 12 million sales on Steam alone, and how similar the current consoles are to the PC in architecture, there's really no reason for Rockstar to simply leave that kind of money on the table.

Yes, eventually. It seems to be Rockstar's approach for their really big games to release on console first, wait a year or two, then release the PC version to maximize sales. If they all released at the same time, people are likely to only get one but by spreading them out there are many who would end up buying them both, starting on console and upgrading to PC.

I don't believe that it'd take 18 months to optimize a PC version of the game, especially with the console version already supporting both the base console and being X or Pro enhanced.

Personally I hope not, don't think I've met a more entitled bunch in gaming then the PC Master Race crowd.

Release date for RDR2 is on March 26 2019.
