Sorry, not possible.
It's the basic anti-theft system for those devices and the activation owner info is saved on Apple's servers, so nothing done to an iphone/ipad can change that.
The only way is to get the account owner to disconnect the device from their account online or enter the activation info on the device itself, then disconnect it via that.
