Bias can lead to a wrong conclusion. If your data collection was biased on a poll about Donald Trump, i.e. you only polled Democrats, you may reach a conclusion that 95% of Americans disapproved of Trump. The actual percentage of Americans who disliked trump would be much lower if a representative sample of Americans were polled.
