What kind of drainage solution for the sink in my cabin discharging grey water directly to my backyard?
What kind of drainage solution for the sink in my cabin discarding grey water directly to my backyard? I don't have plumbing system down in my yard. My yard is big and i only use the cabin very occasionally, that is why I want to do it this way. My question is what kind of pipes should I use and how do I prevent insects from coming into the drain pipe?
Here is my proposal. I will install PVC p trap underneath the sink, drill a big hole in the wall, and connect the P Trap to a straight PVC pipe that goes through the wall and sticks out to the exterior of the wall.
Then I will connect an accordion pipe to the PVC pipe opening to direct the water further away from the structure.
I will buy a pipe cap at the end of the pipe, and cut out an opening and glue a window screen to stop insect from going in.
Please don't laugh at me. I know there must be something stupid in my proposal. I really do not know much about plumbing. Sharing some ideas would be highly appreciated.

Not your best bet. It will be much easier and better to dig a hole 5 feet deep and fill it with gravel and stones with the end of the pipe in the stones. and the whole thing covered over with earth. This will probably never overflow and thus not encourage bugs or pests. If you want, you can put some plastic screening over the rocks before covering it with earth.
Do what Richard D says. It's an old school method that works very well for your type of situation as long as the hole is above the water table and you're not on heavy clay. It's called a "soak away" or a "sink" depending on the local jargon.
I'd dig a dry well(hole filled with stone) to run a piece of perforated drain line into complete with fabric cover.
You may also wish to look at the towns bylaws and such, many places no longer allow that type of set up.
I'd agree with the soakaway idea already suggested. Basically it's a large pit filled with stone and gravel, into which the water flows and soaks away into the surrounding ground - hence the name. You should put a membrane over the top of it to keep soil from clogging it up, and you can then put the soil and turf back on top of that.
In your case I'd also install a filter screen of some sort into the pipe at an easily accessible place, so you can clean the gunge out of it from time to time. It'll also prevent wildlife from climbing up into your sink.
Try doing some research on "soakaways", and also "french drains". You'll get the idea.
you'll need two layers of screen ... one layer of window screen and one of 1/4 inch heavy mesh chicken wire. window screen lacks strength and there are plenty of creatures able to dig, claw, cut, or gnaw their way through it. So, you cover [on outside] the window screen with the chicken wire to keep mice, squirrels, etc. from opening the screen and letting other critters in.
of course, the window screen will prevent any suspended solids in the discharge water from passing ... so you need to keep them out of the drain.
and, you need a means to disassemble the thing for cleaning ... which it will need and likely after each time you use the cabin.
all of this suggests that the chicken wire and screen go inside the end of the pipe and you let the weight/force of the water push them deeper into the end
some experimentation may be required.

only rainwater should discharge onto ground ..you have a cabin..with no toilet? ..any type of foul water will attract bacteria over time
I have installed grey water systems at home. The washing machine has pvc pipe underground slightly and it leads to some plants which have flourished with it. On freezing days; we don't live in the north, we don't use the washing machine. For the bath and basins there is another pvc line that goes out to the pine trees. It is easy to do but if it was done again I would rent a ditch witch for the underground work. at the end of it is a minor sand filled hole.
Thank you for the answer. I am really interested to know how a 5 feet deep hole can help water absorbed underground. What if I do not have to worry about the overflow of water? The cabin is sitting on a slight slope so surface water can naturally go downhill and absorbed by the grass and soil.
