no. you just have to READ what its telling you and choose the correct option. ***** WARNING GUARD: this is negated if your recovery partition is NOT intact, or if you have neglected to create a full backup(it may ask you to insert THAT MEDIA that you may not have and it doesnt do that until its deleted evrything). if you choose a Full Reset the windows ASSUMES and DOES NOT CHECK FIRST for the presence of the recovery media(the OS files you need for the re-install). so make a full backup preferably to dvd media before doing the reset. a 2nd method is also available. download the windows 10 installation media from microsoft(its FREE) you need either2 or 4 dvd's depending on dvd type or a 8gb - 16gb USB stick(BLANK). Your windows licence is held within your BIOS and will automatically activate UNLESS YOU STARTED WITH A DIFFERENT OS and upgraded, in which case you have to install that OS and follow the same upgrade path for a full reset. so if you bought it brand new with 10 installed already then you are ok to install using the microsoft iso files.

if you wipe, you need disc.
