Do I have to prove shoulder injury at work?

Both of my rotator cuffs are strained and I’m only 24. The right one has been bad for awhile but now recently the left one is starting to have the beginning symptoms. It’s from repetitive motion. I read that I need to prove it was work related but how would I do that with a slow injury like this? And if I’m okay with the proof side, what steps would I even take? I don’t know how to just tell them “both my shoulders are going out” lol should I talk to a workers comp agent first? Or the hospital? I just don’t know what to do here that will keep me financially safe. Any help is appreciated.

You report the injury to your employer and request the paperwork for a workers comp claim. You make an appointment with your doctor and give them the papers. The doctor fills out his portion and you return them to your employer. The workers comp carrier will take it from there. They will probably require you to get a second opinion from a doctor of their choosing.

A strained rotator cuff heals. I know- I've had them. They respond to physical therapy, or you can just stop whatever is causing the strain, and eventually, they'll be better. You need to consult a doctor, who may refer you to an orthopedist. They will help you figure out what is causing the strain. If it's something you have to do on your job all the time, they can give you a letter saying that.
