Dating a co-worker?

I need you opinions on dating someone you work with. There’s this girl that I like at work and I want to ask her out but I don’t want it to be too weird because we work together. As far as I know there is no company policy about employees dating each other, however I never received or have any knowledge of an employee handbook. Anyways I’m just looking to see if it’s a good idea or bad idea and why. Thanks in advance!!

It's never a good policy to date a co-worker and most companies disallow it. The reason is that it disrupts the good running of the workplace. The dating pair often cannot stop their private lives getting in the way of work, and if the relationship falls apart, it's really difficult to keep working together rationally and smoothly, let alone having to be in the same room with them.

It's not a good idea. The relationship will get in the way of your working with her and if it ends badly, it will cause both of you problems at work.

It depends on many variables, and you didn't list any.

Is this a career we're talking about, or is it a part time or just-for-now job? What industry (ie: auto parts sales, insurance, pornography, law enforcement, etc.) do you work in? How closely do the two of you work together? What are the odds that one of you will be promoted over the other? And what are the odds that said promotion will adversely affect life at work if the relationship goes bust?

See where I'm going? It's all about those details.

Depends on what kind of job you have if it's a poopy job go for it because there's no repression of you losing that job however if you have a good job you may want to think twice. Due to the fact would you rather have a girlfriend or have a good job?
