What should I expect at Oktoberfest?

One huge and expensive booze-up and a probable significant hang-over the next day. I'd suspect better than St. P's Day too.

Expect a hangover, so in that regard, very similar to St Patrick's Day.

German beer, Bratwurst or Sauerbraten instead of Corned Beef and cabbage. German music instead of an Irish Reel. German lederhosen instead of Irish Green. No shamrocks.

Both are celebrations but of different cultures.

It depends where you are, but the Germans sure know how to party, you will have a good time with music good stuff to eat and plenty of beer. Better than St Patricks Day
