What are EACH of those medications SUPPOSED to do? Make your body produce your own insulin or lower your insulin resistance or both? You should ask YOUR DOCTOR those questions and get them to answer in terms YOU understand.

Your liver is releasing glucagon into your bloodstream in the they. Glucagon is a type of sugar, so THAT'S why your blood sugar levels go up. The oral meds DO NOT work like long or fast actting insulin does for a type 1 diabetic. Even for non-diabetics and type 1 diabetics it takes tme for insulin to work. Everyone's metabolism is unique.

I am a type 1 diabetic for more than 63 years and counting, since I was 2 years old.

Oral meds do NOT work like insulin.
